I've been in and out of that pub for decades including when I recall it being the Robin Hood and Tommy Flynn's but in recent years it was one of the few Chiswick pubs that retained a sense of community. I'd hardly describe myself as a regular but always felt at home there. Brendan was the same class of publican as Con Kelly formerly of Jack Stamps and the Roebuck. If no one takes on Brendan's mantle, Chiswick High Road will be without a genuine Irish pub which will make this sad event even sadder. |
