Just a FYI that there could be longer queues at post offices. In the old regime if you were going to send a parcel abroad, then you just needed to fill out a customs form, get your postage label and then post your item. The new regime means extra processes and the following will need to be entered into the post office system: - recipient's address - recipient's address (again) as well as the name - for each individual item in the parcel at least the description and value - sender's details So if someone in the queue in front of you has 10 parcels going abroad and numerous items in each parcel, then unfortunately you may have to wait a long time. Please be kind and patient with the hard working postmasters/postmistresses - it's a huge amount to enter into the computer system compared with the old regime and it's mandated by Royal Mail. |
