| If your son loves animals, you might contact the London Woildlife Trust, who offer a Youth Programme (11 y.o. and up): https://www.wildlondon.org.uk/opportunities-young-people I believe the LWT has a West London branch, who amongst other things, maintain the Gunnersbury Triangle Nature Reserve.
