| It was the bus lane in Kew Road approaching Richmond circus. I couldn’t appeal because it was a Company Car and our company lease agreement with Arval stipulates that all fines will be automatically paid by Arval and Arval debit our company with the fine (in this case £110 plus an Admin Fee of £30) Leasing companies will not appeal cases on clients’ behalf. There must be thousands of people in the same position as me with company cars and tens of thousands who just couldn’t be bothered to go through all the hassle of appealing. Drivers should just be aware that breaking the Law to do the right and moral thing by moving out of the way for emergency vehicles, could cost you or cause you some grief in trying to appeal. I guess we have to live with our conscience if we decide to not move out of the way or suffer the consequences if we do. Obviously with all the cycle lanes we have to make that choice more often. |
