| from Twitter " Gut wrenching for us and also very sad as to why the person probably stole them " But why *would* anyone steal them ? Given a shelf surely implies multiple copies Is there really a ready market for stolen children's books ? " Ere lady, how about a nice copy of "Wind in the Willows" for the nipper ? Yours for 50p, no questions asked " Its almpst like back the 1950's when more than one subsequently famous denizen of Soho, supplemented their meagre income by stealing books from Foyles and selling them on to knowing secondhand booksellers for 10% of the cover price. Or more if stolen to order. michael adams |
