I just had a long and wet walk back to Grove Park from the High Rd as the 272 and E3 buses seem to have been abducted by aliens. It gave me the chance to properly observe that Thames water have yet again made a big hole uncovering the water main on the north side of the Sutton Court Rd lights. This has necessitated the closure of one lane so anyone coming that way this evening is in for a treat. Works are scheduled until Feb 10th though nothing is currently happening. Given that Acton lane is also an excavation site, it's all kicking off again. A perfect time for Hounslow Council to try closing Turnham Green Terrace again I would have thought!
These two sites (Acton Lane and Sutton Court Road) are between them in a near-permanent state of disruption. The effects on traffic are well known. I have seen the future, and it's not going anywhere. |
