| The Port of London Authority (PLA) issued a Notice to Mariners yesterday giving details of arrangements to allow "controlled transits" on the river under Hammersmith Bridge on Sundays. The present ban on any passage on or under the bridge by land or water will remain, with the exception that people can apply in advance to pass under the bridge on the water. This is limited to Sundays only, because LBHF's contractors are working on the bridge for the other 6 days of the week. No passengers will be allowed on these transits, and I imagine that routine leisure trips will not be allowed. I hope this will mean that boats will once again be able to transfer from and to the boat maintenance yards at Brentford.
