| She did live just over the border, near Young's Corner. I liked Erin, she had a wicked sense of humour and was very funny but not terribly PC. she was very feisty and had to be as, until she came along, battered wives were - like naughty vicars - a music hall joke, not to be taken seriously, so she encountered a lot of opposition. She was pretty spiky when she had to be and was not universally loved. I think it's extremely sad that, owing to those that followed in her wake, she has been overlooked. Without her, thousands of women would still be suffering and there probably be no refuges. |
