Mr Lesniak The car park in Brentford is available for use to support the High Street now. I believe 140 spaces are authorised. It will become more important as and when redevelopment of the Morrisons site commences as we will then temporarily lose the ~100 spaces there. I did say that some Sunday Single Yellow Line spaces in Chiswick will no longer be available, and of course it is fair comment that that will apply on weekday evenings also. You say 'customers have trouble finding parking spaces in Chiswick'. Of course, at times it's hard to find a space in the area of CHR you really want but I repeat I have never ever been unable to park. We'd have trouble monetising parking in a private car park! We are proposing to raise council tax (which was frozen for many years) to mitigate some of the continuing reduction in support from central government (we have lost well over £150M pa in rate support and similar grants since 2010) and increasing demand, especially for social care for children and older people. You may not have noticed that Ruth Cadbury achieved a majority of around 10500, which compares to around 12500 in 2017 and less than 500 in 2015. Bar Ruth since 2015, and 12 years of Ann Keen this constituency has been Conservative since it was created in 1974. So the election was in fact very strong for Labour locally. |
