ABOUT CHISWICK CINEMA

The Chiswick Cinema is an independent cinema in the heart of Chiswick and a first cinema-site for its owners, Trafalgar Entertainment. With 5 screens, a Lounge, bar, private screening room and dining/event space the cinema offers a unique and high-end customer-experience. ABOUT THIS ROLE

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an Operations Manager to manage our Trafalgar Cinema in Chiswick. Delivering an exceptional customer experience and establishing the venue as a premium leader in the cinema and hospitality space, the Operations Manager will have full responsibility for the day to day running of the venue, along with taking an autonomous lead on all strategic initiatives to drive revenue and performance.


You will be reporting to the Regional Director.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensuring that each and every customer and member is treated with exceptional care and attention from the moment of arrival, throughout their visit and beyond. The Operations Manager will be the face and voice of the venue and will need to comprehend the customer’s every need to create a truly premium individual experience.
Developing, managing, and improving all areas of the business ensuring impeccable standards are implemented and maintained.
To lead the venue’s Buildings and Maintenance functions, ensuring that the building, facilities, and grounds are managed and maintained to the best possible presentation, safety and compliancy standards and within agreed budgetary parameters.
Leading and motivating the venue management team and being the final point of escalation on all matters.
Creating and working to ambitious but achievable budgets, forecasts and KPIs, along with the compilation and distribution of financial reports to appropriate departments, ensuring effective monitoring and feedback
Support the development of membership strategies in line with KPIs.
Create managements rotas and oversee payroll.
Collaborate with central HR to recruit and select the right talent to drive the business
Inducting and training the venue management team, setting objectives to ensure adequate levels of training and development.
Overseeing, and managing all private hires and event management as required.
Ensuring the venue is compliant and up to date in all areas of Health & Safety and all licensing and legislative requirements.
Providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all staff and customers
Liaising with central support functions, external cinemas or and trade bodies on all matters relating to the successful operation of the cinema
Establishing and maintaining relations with the local community, local businesses, local law enforcement and local media and ensuring that those relationships are shared within the venue management team.
Collaborate with the Programme & Marketing Manager to ensure a good mix of programming in line with the Cinema’s objectives, and deputising for them during periods of leave.
Such other duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the venue and aid the efficiency of the Company.
There is a requirement to work 40 hours per week over 5 out of 7 days with regular work at evenings and weekends.

Commercially savvy, enthusiastic, and capable of influencing others (including senior members of the TE team and third-party producer clients), you’ll be energetic, proactive, results-focused, and creative in your approach.



You’ll be resilient, able to communicate clearly and excellent at forming working relationships with others.



Our successful candidate will have:

Experience of working in a similar environment
Excellent customer focus, with experience offering premium customer service and managing teams to offer the same.
Understanding of cinema management systems such as Vista (POS and BOH), TMS (digital cinema programming), and Christie laser projection
A passion and ambition for cinema, entertainment, hospitality, and creating premium customer service.
Experience managing complex operations within the entertainment/hospitality space and achieving outstanding results.
Exceptional leadership experience including selecting and motivating employees at all levels to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining operational compliance.
Commercial and financial awareness to maximise sales, boost membership, and identify new opportunities and revenue streams wherever possible.
A confident understanding of all operational and commercial aspects of running a busy entertainment venue and monitoring and driving its financial results.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with customers, team members, senior board members
