Hi John As I understand it there have always been some occasional street parking problems in the non-CPZ part of Staveley Road - abandoned vehicles and free parking for Heathrow travellers and general inconsiderate parking across driveways. However if I understand correctly this greatly increased after the new CPZ was introduced. The way these consulations are normally conducted by LBH is for only those households within the probationary CPZ to be consulted i.e. not Elmwood Road. The Cllrs elected in May and sitting on the Chiswick Area Forum may well see things differently to LBH. In the past Conservative run Chiswick has been considered "odd" because it usually consults all residents on CPZ matters. Any member of the public can speak at the Chiswick Area Forum in the "open microphone" session at the end of the meetings. It has also been the practice at the Chiswick Area Forum for the Chair to allow extensive public participation in discussions about agenda items such as petitions. However to stop meetings running on long into the night the Chair of the Committee usually only grants speaking rights to those who have requested the right to speak in advance of the meeting. A new Chair of the Committee will be appointed after the May local election. You could of course organise you own petition. The Council website provides ome helpful advice. |
