Spiked Online is a direct descendant of Living Marxism - the magazine that went under when it was sued for libel by ITN, after claiming ITN had faked the footage of Bosnian concentration camps. LM was at the time very pro-Serb.
My own view of the Spiked bunch is that they are interesting but should be subjected to the same healthy scepticism that they themselves advocate on their pet issues: the main one being that environmentalists are scaremongers, and therefore there is no need to be concerned about global warming, GM foods, links between food manufacturers and childhood obesity etc.
