There were indeed 27 actual planes that landed on Friday morning before 6am. Of those, 20 were earlier than scheduled and 7 later. Of the early ones, 8 were scheduled to land after 6am. It's unusual to allow them to land before 6. Usually they go round in circles in the holding stacks until 6am, and then they all come flooding in, needing both runways to accommodate them. As Tim suggested, it could be that they were using spare movements/noise quota as we approach the end of the current season (30 March) over which the movements are controlled. |
