You cannot really believe that no direct tube link between Chiswick and Ealing would be something that would be considered an improvement. The author of the report is quite clear about the need for a stop at TG. 'The first is that if the District Line no longer goes to Ealing Broadway then it would make some sense for Piccadilly Line trains to stop at Turnham Green as the first (or last) station served by both lines. This would avoid longer journey times for journeys such Richmond to Acton Town as well as reduce others such as Heathrow to Richmond.' Without the stop the new configuration would lead to a significant increase in journey times for a large number of people and it is hard to see who actually would benefit |
