Yes, basically, but the District upgrade also included fitting the signalling to the Piccadilly trains so they could operate west of Barons Court. As yet there's no indication whether or not that's being carried over. The wording of the SSR resignalling tender is, however, pretty unambiguous about future use of the same technology on subsequent line upgrades, plus the only bit finished so far is the (empty) Hammersmith joint control room for District, Met, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Piccadilly. Given that, it would be a surprise if the same signalling system wasn't specified for the new Piccadilly trains, even if they pursue total separation of the lines as LR suggests. |
