... just so I understand this... the upgrade of the District line signalling is being re-tendered, but even if this project meets the original date of end 2018, all day stopping at Turnham Green would require a Piccadilly line upgrade. There is no firm date yet for a Piccadilly upgrade but it is likely to be 202x. Skimming the Reconnections article, it appears a Piccadilly line upgrade would require new signalling, rolling stock and potentially the introduction of platform doors on Piccadilly line stations. TfL may also be looking to do a more radical change to the network by replacing Ealing branch District line with Piccadilly line and increasing service on Richmond branch District line. This would impact Chiswick Park and Ealing Common stations. I think that is it...have I got it correct? |
