I’ve just been advised the new shelter will be installed in August. Apologies for the delay. I’ve asked London Buses to use the “conservative” back/red ones, as they successively replace the shelters in Chiswick town centre. Grey/red is being used elsewhere in the borough - see for example at the east end of Waterman’s Park opposite Jet. Pamela - bus stop spacings are a combination of history and practicality. Stops can’t generally be located right on top of junctions (although I did do this opposite Chiswick Business Park where there is a bus lane), and the locations tend to be governed by trees, crossovers, footway widths etc. Footways, carriageways, drainage and street cleaning on borough roads including CHR are the responsibility of Hounslow Highways. I’ve prepared a plan to extend the footway out a fraction to clear the street trees at the stop in question. This will be implemented when the carriageway or footway is resurfaced. According to the HH website, the carriageway isn’t being done until 2016 and there is no date for the footway. However, Linden Gardens is scheduled to get new footways and carriageways next year, so there may be room for manoeuvre here. |
