" It is middling ironic that one of Boris's most glaring campaign lies ('bendy buses kill lots of cyclists every year') has come back to haunt him via his weirdly callous indifference to actual cyclist safety in London. You do have to wonder what's going on in his head if he's that do-nothing about *his supposed favourite form of transport*. Actually, what's going on is that Boris isn't really running London any more, he's going to PR stunts. He's left the actual running to various GLA directors who've been given quite wide ranging powers without a lot of oversight or accountability. I'm unsure if this was in his manifesto. |
