Other thing worth mentioning is that if you are going to walk other peoples dogs (as opposed to those in shelters) you would probably need to have liability insurance or check whether the owners have it for the dog and if it applies with you. That may sound like a lot of fuss but just say the dog slipped his or her collar and ran into a road a caused an accident or nipped another dog or something similar. Worth thinking about! Might be worth looking at The Cinammon Trust at http://www.cinnamon.org.uk/ They want volunteers to walk dogs belonging to the disabled or the elderly and I guess would have insurance to cover you. A very worthwhile organisation to volunteer with. |
