Just using this site as a soundboard for a rant before my good lady wife comes home to . Popped into Starbucks CHR early afternoon, it was fairly busy but no queue, or so it seemed, they were pretty quick to take my cash. Getting my coffee though took 5 minutes, not long in the grand scheme of things but Id already been annoyed (more about that later) as the girl on the till was good, the coffee maker (only one) was slow, which begs the question, why not have two making coffee? Also, when I did get the coffee, went over to a vacant table with the detritus of the previous patrons, but so were all the empty tables, and the coffee was rubbish, so shant be going back there again. Being English I said nothing. Anyway, what did really get to me, as I walked in I noticed a young man on crutches behind (looked disabled to me), so I held the door for him, only to have a middle aged woman, bag and coffee in one hand, mobile phone to ear, tut at us because the gentleman was taking too long to get through the doors and clear her path. Then, whilst drinking my coffee, noticed an extraordinary amount of people using the disabled button to open the double doors, because I assume, they were too weak to pull/push a single door and keep it open long enough to get through. When leaving, said young man on crutches was behind me again (will check my door and windows tonight just in case hes a well disguised stalker), so, again, I held the door open for him to watch as another middle aged woman rushed in front of him to squeeze through while inadvertently kicking one of his crutches, did she apologise? Or even say thank you for having the door held open? No. Am I having a bad day or have I just started to notice how rude, selfish and lazy some people really are? |
