'It was good to see the audience weren't taken in like the panel where.' The panel weren't 'taken in'. They all agreed that on the evidence of Melissa's performance on the task she should be fired. (A no-brainer, if ever there was one). The only people being taken in are those who suppose that the 'Melissa' being presented on television has much to do with the real person – what we see is indeed a consequence of ‘the distorting mirrors of the programme’s producers’ as Malcolm aptly put it. I accept that the ‘Melissa’ who appeared on ‘You’re Fired!’ was also not ‘real’, but in my view she certainly came across as a lot nicer than the monster created by ‘the Apprentice’ producers and I hope the media (and this forum) stop pillorying her as some kind of punch-bag hate figure. It’s not kind and it’s not fair. Let’s just enjoy the show for what it is – entertainment. |
