One last thought. Are your waste pipe/mains water pipe in the vicinity of where the leak is appearing. If the mains pipe is, last thing at night, make sure that every tap etc. is turned off (if you know where your main stop cock is so much the better). Then go to the water meter in the street and check it/do a reading. Go back 10 minutes later and see if it has moved. Either it will tell you you have a leak or you can eliminate that from your thinking. If there is a leak in the waste water pipe, the smell will tell you. Otherwise just assume that it is a high water table with more rain being added and it should resolved itself in the summer. |
