15 years ago I was all for a 'modern' approach but now I have had a total rethink and decided that it is important to have as many possible 'back ups' as possible. This all resulted from my very modern thinking neighbour putting in a mains only supply. When her boiler sprung a leak it was my WC she used because her mains were switched off. When her boiler was down she had no hot water but I had the advantage of an emersion in my hot water tank. So my advice is, think carefully before you take out all the things that give you back up and really not as backward as some would have you believe. |
