It’s very commonplace nowadays to have a pressurised central heating system. Because the water comes straight from the mains it does away with the need for a cold water tank, freeing up the space, giving fresh drinking water at every tap, and decent pressure for showering without the need for a pump. There don’t seem to be any disadvantages whatsoever, other than some initial changeover costs, and you would need to see that the water supply into your house is in the right sized pipe work. The hot water tanks, often a make called Megaflow, come in a range of sizes and, because you have quite a large house, it might be sensible to consider one of the bigger ones. |
