Webtrak should show this - that flightpath does indeed exist, or at least it did in 2002. The most accurate plot of the Heathrow arrival flightpaths I've seen is fig. 2.4.2 at http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/noise/mapping/aviation/pdf/aircraft-noise.pdf. It's a little tricky to map this low resolution plot on to the streets of Chiswick, but once done it agrees very well with Richard's map of the flightpaths. I've passed the plot on to Richard to see if he can post it. From this plot the last arrival spur to Heathrow from the north comes down from Shepherd's Bush, right over the top of you and crosses the Thames at the Bull's Head before joining the main flight path at Isleworth. This is designated a night track and could be used quite infrequently. I've only once seen a plane on this flightpath, passing just south of the Russian Orthodox Church one evening. You can certainly see some abnormal flights on WebTrak - for instance a late swap from the southern to the northern runway over Chiswick at 20:55 on Saturday 1 December. I can't see a way of looking at the accumulated flight paths on WebTrak to check if it has ever recorded such movements over north Chiswick. If there really are no records of these tracks, I would start to be a little suspicious of WebTrak. |
