Thanks to all, please keep going. It seems strange that the Brewery was not the one I remember from the 50s as Fuller, Smith and Turner, but the Anchor Brewery of Park Street, Southwark, S. E.1. Other breweries associated with it were Style and Winch, Ltd., The Royal Brewery, Brentford,Ltd. and the Dartford Brewery Co., Ltd. My grandfather wrote a letter to the House Magazine, "Anchor Magazine" in Feb. 1933 with a picture he took in the Lifeguardsman's back yard, (against the urinal) of his neighbours, 5 generations of the Huxley family. My mother has identified Arthur Huxley in this group. I emailed a copy to Mr Marshall at the library last week. |
