I have only just joined your web site. I can't do much to help myself as I live in Cheshire. I hope someone can help me. My grandfather, Frank William Sweeting, was the licensee of the Lifeguardsman Pub in Old Chiswick, opposite Hogarth House, in the early 30s. He lived there with his parents, William Charles and Henrietta, his wife Isabel, or Bell, my mother then known as Babs and Click, the German Shepherd. Gladys Taylor was their maid. My Great grandfather and Bell were buried in Old Chiswick Churchyard in 1932 and 1933.A few years after they left, the pub was bombed in 1940. I would dearly love to see a photo of this large pub, and be able to show it to my mother who is now 88, but the Archives Department at the library does not have one. Can any of you help me?
