| It is an unconvincing retrospective justification of why he pocketed the cash. He received the money some time ago and he doesn't appear to have used much or any of it on private security. As it is so transparently false it seems he has realised that he needs to be tried by the court of public opinion, which he feels he can manipulate rather than an actual court. |
