As a hybrid car owner, I feel the muddle over the switch to non petrol/diesel cars is doomed to failure. We can't seem to get anything right in this country any more. If you charge at home then the VAT rate is 5% but use a roadside charger and it shoots up to 20% plus the provider takes a profit too. To me a charge of £3,000 means that someone else is taking a big profit for a relatively small amount of work. Any other hybrid/ev owners agree? |
