It is a few years ago but my nephew had a good experience working as a student with Pret and found its corporate ethics to be quite robustly adhered to. While I like its sandwiches, I agree with you about the coffee though. People should make the effort to walk to independently owned local cafes which provide better coffee and experience - my favourites are Tamp, Hothouse and Rhythm and Brews but there are many other good ones in the area. I noticed the other day that Cafe Trinity by Turnham Green station has closed so the survival of these places is often in the balance.
