| Pedestrian crossings have always been a problem. Lighting directed onto pedestrians waiting, flashing belisha beacons and another light in the middle on an island haven't changed that. With zebra crossings pedestrians are supposed to show their intention to cross - that is why some of them push their children in buggies out into the road! - and vehicles are supposed to stop and wait until pedestrians have crossed. An unbelievable number of vehicles seem to think that they should be sharing the crossings while pedestrians are crossing or stil lcrossing. Why? |
