Has anyone on the forum notice their petrol consumption since using the new E10 unleaded petrol. I believe the government said that the E10 petrol would be approximately 1% less efficient than the old E5 unleaded petrol. My petrol consumption using the E10 petrol has increased dramatically, so much so, I was in the process of booking it into a garage to check it out. But then I searched online about my problem, I was amazed at the amount of results that came up with the same problem as me. But after reading some of the information about E10 it seems that in the reel world, that the E10 is working out 9 to 10% less efficient than the old E5 petrol. Once again on environmental grounds the government introduced this new petrol , but at the same time didn’t increase the fuel duty,. Well they didn’t have to, because your affectedly buying more of it to do the same journeys you did on the old E5. The saying Rip off Britton comes to mind again. |
