Essentially a similar story here, although I admit to being a fair weather cyclist only. If it is raining and I need to do a shopping run at that time or the shopping load is too heavy or too bulky to conveniently walk or cycle to Chiswick Sainsbury's then I take the car to Richmond.

I do use the car for trips to my parents (300 miles away) for the simple reason that the cost by train is 3x the cost by car
