According to Reelstreets the exterior for the "Chiswick
Palais" was in fact the Gaumont Streatham. They feature
a capture from the film and a photo from 2013
when the exterior was largely unchanged. Unlike
the Chiswick Empire of course.

It was demolished in 2014 but the frontage was
retained

While a quick look at Google Streetview showa
that it remains there, in spirit at least
enveleoped by the frontage of the modern
developement - and minus the side road.

The frontage with the pillars is not that dissimilar
to the Forum in Ealing which is due for similar
treatment.

As the Forum and Gaumonts were possibly in the same
chain, they were possibly designed by the same team
of architects. There is a short Pathe film of the
opening of the Forum Ealing avaibale online
somewhere.
