| I don't see the beggars on the street in Chiswick as much of a problem. I wonder how much they take, if few people carry cash because of the pandemic. I haven't handled either a coin or a note in nearly 5 months. More of a concern, in my view, are the "ex-cons" and "ex-squaddies" hawking cleaning materials on the doorstep, on "probation" or "charity" schemes. We had two in two weeks recently, and the first of them, when told I didn't have any cash, said I could pay by bank transfer! |
