I was taking my stroll in Chiswick House today (observing incidentally the large number of sunbathers, totally heedless of the notices posted at the entrances), and passed a lady with two small dogs off the lead, one of which stayed close by its owner, and the other ran off and was eager to make the acquaintance of another lady. The lady bent down to pat the dog, whereupon the owner shouted, very rudely, "Don't touch her". The lady said "It's ok, I don't have it (presumably meaning Covid-19), to which the owner replied "You don't know". Leaving aside the issue of whether dogs can catch the disease, or transmit it to humans, why on earth would someone so neurotic about the possibility walk round the park with two dogs off the lead? |
