It is important that we all take heed of any restrictions during this period for everyone's benefit. No one wants to have to intervene in a dog-on-dog incident, cope with a dog running round their feet or dogs in season being allowed to run free etc at the best of times. I have encountered all of these situations in the last couple of weeks. At the moment, having to cope with an altercation or incident might be putting lives at risk if people need to come into close contact. Please keep your dog on lead where required or use a long line - for everyone's sake. Where your dog is allowed off lead, make sure that you have trained reliable recall and that you can call your dog away from distractions as not to be a nuisance to others. |
