It's nice to get a bit of good news on crime such as the item that has been published on this site about the recent success in bringing down the number of offences. A pat on the back is in order for our local police. There was no doubt that robberies and knife crime in Chiswick had reached an unacceptable level and, even with the latest reduction, the number is far too high. However, a rise was inevitable given the fall in resources available to the police and they seem to have stemmed that rise by proactive and intelligent policing. It was also interesting to learn how the activities of one woman in particular seems to have contributed to the rise in crime that we have seen. Now that she is behind bars hopefully this fall will be sustained. |
