We get a lot of posts from people who are desperately searching for a missing cat, so I thought I'd share something I came across recently, about a former policeman in South London who has set up a pet detective agency using a (rescue) cocker spaniel called Molly to search for missing moggies: "I worked in the police as a detective inspector for many years, and had seen dogs search for drugs and bombs and help with murder investigations. I figured, if a dog can be trained to find amphetamines, then it can be trained to find cats." I can't find the article I originally read, but this one from The Guardian gives a flavour: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/may/05/experience-my-dog-rescues-cats Apparently Mr. Butcher has a book out now called "Molly and Me", which if it manages to unite cat-owners with dog-owners, is sure to be a best seller! |
