Thanks for coming on here Richard so I can respond to you directly. My main point in the 'Goodbye Acton Green Church' topic was a reaction to your quoted comments about St Albans having been saved by the community '..and of course for worship'. Many people campaigned to save this empty building for community use rather than for housing, but it's a presumption on your part to say that they 'of course' wanted it to be used as a place of worship, particularly by your particular 'Marmite sect'. Even some previous St Albans parishioners I know are unhappy that you've 'stolen their church' in this way. I'm sure you intend the building to be used for a range of community activities, but I fear they will inevitably come under the jurisdiction of the Alpha management and contribute to its image and its revenues. |
