Reported by getwestlondon.co.uk :- Brentford and Isleworth MP Ruth Cadbury who previously campaigned to keep the Lucozade sign, is backing the cause. She said: "I'm very disappointed the sign has been replaced after all the work we did in 2010-14 to get the old sign replaced with a modern equivalent. I will do whatever is in my power to get that iconic sign returned to its rightful place." JC Decaux declined to comment, however Nina Meusburger, head of marketing at Lucozade Energy said: "We're grateful for the publics appreciation for the iconic Lucozade Energy sign which was displayed along the M4 in Brentford. " We have preserved and stored the sign since the decision was made to turn the space into a digital advertising board, and we are considering various options of where to place it next." In September 2013, Japanese company Suntory bought the Lucozade brand from GSK and put in a planning application to modernise the sign which was rejected in January 2014. The company appealed to the planning inspectorate which said the sign could be replaced with restrictions. |
