Thanks David, the exactness of the figures points to a FOI request being the source of the information, however what you said was:

"I read recently that they spend more money strewing copies of the Guardian around their offices as all other publications put togethere."

I interpret that as you saying that the BBC spends more money on buying the Guardian ( 127,643) than it spends on all of the other publications combined ( you used the words "put together"). This clearly isn't the case, as you can see if you look at the article.

What is true is that the BBC buys more copies of the Guardian than it does of any other individual title, and similarly that it spends more on buying copies of the Guardian than it does on any other individual title.

For every 100 copies of the Daily Telegraph that it buys, the BBC buys 107 copies of the Guardian - whether that difference is sufficient to make it the most popular title in its office "by far" I'll leave it to those reading this to decide.
