This morning Sarah Montague excelled herself with her rudeness and showed bias.  She was all over the place with her questioning.

As this is a topic I wanted to know more about, I listened to her interview with Sadiq Khan and he was given room to present his points and was gently brought back to the point when he strayed.  When asked about Jeremy Corbin, he was allowed to duck the issue and only lightly pressed for the answer she was seeking as a result she did not show him in a good light and he came over as a bit unprepared and lacking in confidence.  I hope he will improve if he is to be considered a serious candidate.

However, today was a different matter.  She was insistent, constantly interrupting and hectoring so Zac Goldsmith was not allowed to make his points.  That technique seemed to be to bounce him into an unfortunate answer so that she could pounce and belittle him.  I suspect that it is her view (and/or the Radio 4 team) that as someone from a wealthy and educated background, he is well able to stand up to such bullying and needed to be brought down.

I suggest that Ms Montague is dropped from any further interviews of the other candidates and that unbiased, more intelligent questions on the role and ambitions of a future Mayor of London be asked of all the candidates and how they plan to achieve them.

I want to hear from all the candidates so that I can make an informed decision on who best to run London.  This is a huge job which also requires good organisational skills and man management ones too.  It cannot be left to a political appointee without them demonstrating that they have what it takes.
