Thanks Richard, The little mat is on top of a beautiful plain very pale gold fitted throughout wool carpet. The mat is a recent addition, put down to stop unnoticed spills being transferred to the sitting room and making an unsightly mess just outside of the kitchen door which has a tiled floor. Also Grandma already wears an emergency alert wrist band should she be unwell or fall. I'm trying to remove a possible trip/fall potential but thank you for your suggestions. Viv - I hope you are well and having a fab Christmas x I'll check out your suggestion as the currently used double sided carpet adhesive tape which has been applied to the underside of the mat and also to the carpet isn't working - the stuff on the carpet has lost it's stick due to fluff and the tape on the rubber backed mat has become extremely gooey/sticky but ineffective. Angela Knight has contacted me suggesting a 'grippy' underlay which is thin and can be cut to size - she has a rug shop and supplies it plus uses it herself under rugs which sound similar to yours (nothing to get snooty about in my view x ). She's offered to get some for me so I'll try that for starters. I'm a little apprehensive about the 'carpet well' option as I'm not sure she would get used to lifting her feet up sufficiently to miss the 'edging' of the well. Ive only seen this fixed on a tiled floor so I'll have to investigate further.....but thank you again for the suggestion. Thanks again to all and best wishes |
