Business or trade waste is any waste produced from commercial activities. This includes waste from your business activities if you work from home and from the maintenance or refurbishment of any property you rent out as a landlord. All businesses have a legal duty of care to make sure that their waste is disposed of safely and legally, either by themselves of by a licensed waste carrier. This may be a private company or the Council. You can be prosecuted for disposing of business/trade waste in your household waste collection or at the Household Reuse & Recycling Centre (unless it specifically takes Trade/Business Waste which is supposed to be paid for separately). You should look at the Government website below to find out your responsibilities: https://www.gov.uk/managing-your-waste-an-overview |
