Yep, precisely John, Arsenal are one of the few clubs which have focused upon long-term stability, both on and off the pitch. Whilst he hasn't delivered many trophies recently, the club have been the most consistent within the Premiership, always in the top 4, always qualifying for the latter stages of the Champions League etc. Yes I'm an Arsenal fan but of course Wenger, like every manager/human being has his faults, however I for one dread the day when we finally find ourselves Wenger-less. Replacing Mourinho with Hiddink until the end of the season is a desperate move, particularly how spectacularly Hiddink failed to get the best out of an ageing Dutch team, which isn't that different to the current Chelsea team where you've got key players like Ivanovic, Terry and Fabregas who are either past it or a shell of the players they once were. Of course they won't be relegated, but you or I could take charge and keep them up. |
