this is off a comments board on the web. It's a parody apparently. The ad isn't trying to be funny. It's purposefully trying to be provocative to show how hypocritical people are. It's a play off a Rhett & Link commercial about a furniture store for black and white people. Bring up race or sexuality, even if the message is positive, and people's heads will explode. That's the whole point. This simple ad has now been seen by a quarter million people, yet it doesn't degrade anyone. What does sexuality have to do with a hardware store? Nothing.... and that's the very message they are giving. |
