OK, now I appear to have TalkTalk problems as well as AOL problems.
I tried to look into TT's 'My Account' option, but found that - exactly like AOL - it wouldn't acceept my password, but it at least provided a message to the effect that 'some customers in the south' were experiencing problems caused by BT Openreach work; it gave no indication, however, of when these problems would be sorted out. I'm thankful that I've at least got a gmail account to keep me in touch.
Oh - sssh though! Maybe TT/AOL have got their sticky fingers on gmail too....
