"Does anyone know if Alexandra Avenue has officially been renamed?" I think it must have been, but I've no idea when.  The large-scale Ordnance Survey maps mark the road as Great Chertsey Road, as does Hounslow Highways' map. There are, however, a pair of bus stops called Alexandra Avenue, though the TfL Journey Planner finds it difficult  to remember this, preferring to offer you a journey to Alexandra Avenue in Sutton. Alexandra Avenue isn't in the Postcode database, but I think that's because there aren't any properties that front on to the road. (Great Chertsey Road has only one postcode, near Dan Mason Drive.)
