I had this problem with two cats recently (before one had a hind leg wound with a vet's dressing). But now one of cats has a fight wound in this lower abdomen that can't have a dressing the vet says - I tried to stop the cat licking the wound by using a big cat ruff - which we have extended (with thin plastic) so as to prevent him licking his wounds. But he still tries to do this and the ruff itself ends up in contact with the raw wound. I have tried keeping him in a pet carrier at night - so as to stop him being able to curl around and attempt to lick the wound- but he hates this. Any suggestions? |
